Most of the personal information we process is provided directly to us by you for the following reasons:

  • To gather information prior to a Reiki treatment
  • To provide health information to a medical professional if deemed appropriate
  • To be able to provide informed feedback to the client following a treatment

The information provided by you will be used in order to:

  • Gather information prior to a Reiki treatment
  • Provide health information to a GP if appropriate
  • Provide information to the emergency services in the event of a medical emergency
  • To provide feedback to the individual following a treatment or ongoing treatments
  • To gain an understanding of any medical issues prior to the treatment

How we store your personal information

Your information will be held for 7 years after the date of the last treatment, in the following forms:

  • Paper documentation
  • Email messages
  • Facebook messages

Physical documentation will be stored in a locked, secure environment. Any electronic messages will be held in a secure, encrypted file.

We will only share your information with a medical professional if requested in the event of an emergency. We may also share information with solicitors for the purpose of defending any legal claims. If requested and with the explicit consent of the individual, we may also share the information with other holistic services/healers.

Your data protection rights

Under data protection law, you have rights including:

  • Your right of access – You have the right to ask us for copies of your personal information.
  • Your right to rectification – You have the right to ask us to rectify personal information you think is inaccurate. You also have the right to ask us to complete information you think is incomplete.
